Over the years
I have talked
to many people
who have asked
me how to find
their way to
God.
Some have been
church goers
for all of
their lives
but never come
to know God
personally.
Others have
sought for
ultimate
meaning in all
sorts of ways
but never
found the
peace of mind
for which they
are searching.
Some simply
realize that
there is
something
missing in
their lives
but do not
know what it
is. Some
seek for a way
out by getting
involved in
drugs,
religion,
spiritualism,
and many such
form in order
to find full
and complete
happiness to
their lives.
But friends,
no matter how
much you
search you can
never find the
way by seeking
a path to walk
in.
No
matter how
much a man
searches, he
could never
find the way
to eternal
peace on his
own.
However,
John chapter
14:6
tells that
Jesus Christ
is the way,
the truth and
the life; and
that no man
comes to the
heavenly
Father through
no other means
but by Him and
Him alone.
Man in their
search for
completeness
find
themselves on
the path that
lead to utter
destruction
without any
hope. I
must confess,
I to believe
there was a
path leading
to God; but
friends there
is no path to
God. A
path is a
route or
course along
which a man
travels for a
specific
purpose.
A path has an
end to it; but
the Way (noun)
is a course of
action or
method
followed in
order to
attain
something.
Jesus declares
that He is the
only Way to
eternal life;
He is the only
way to God the
Eternal Father
of creation.
Man in his own
strength looks
for a way but
in looking
within his own
strength and
means find
themselves on
the path to
eternal loss.
The Bible
teaches that
this sense of
lostness is
rooted in the
fact that we
live in a
fallen world
in which we
are all
handicapped
and disabled
by a sinful
nature: we
"all have
sinned and
fall short of
the glory of
God" (Romans
3:23).
And despite
our best
efforts we are
unable to
remove the
haunting
weight of
guilt that
separates us
from our
Creator.
God sent Jesus
Christ to
solve our
problem.
"God so loved
the world that
he gave his
one and only
Son, that
whoever
believes in
him shall not
perish but
have eternal
life" (John
3:16).
Jesus Christ
made the way
to God for us
by his death
on the Cross.
He purchased
our salvation
by the
shedding of
his blood. His
death and
resurrection
made a new and
everlasting
covenant
between God
and humanity.
In
John chapter
14:1-5,
Jesus spoke to
His disciples
"Let not your
heart be
troubled: ye
believe in
God, believe
also in me.
In my Father's
house are many
mansions: if
it were not
so, I would
have told you.
I go to
prepare a
place for you.
And if I go
and prepare a
place for you,
I will come
again, and
receive you
unto myself;
that where I
am, there ye
may be also.
And whither I
go ye know,
and the way ye
know. Thomas
saith unto
him, Lord, we
know not
whither thou
goest; and how
can we know
the way?
You see,
Thomas being
doubtful, did
not put his
faith to work.
In verse 6
Jesus had to
remind His
disciples, "I
am the way and
the truth and
the life.
No one comes
to the Father
except through
me" (John
14:6).
He did not
merely point
the way to
God. He
himself
claimed to be
the only Way
to the Father
and the source
of eternal
truth and
life.
Friends, the
way to God is
through a
personal faith
in Jesus
Christ.
Intellectual
acceptance of
Christ is not
enough; saying
you know about
Him makes no
difference
either.
You must come
to him; repent
of your sins;
determined to
turn from what
displeases
him; and with
a total trust
in Christ's
saving power
desire to
serve and
trust Him for
the rest of
your life.
Christ
promises those
who turn to
him: "Whoever
hears my word
and believes
him who sent
me has eternal
life and will
not be
condemned; he
has crossed
from death to
life" (John
5:24).
Today you can
come to him by
accepting that
you have
broken His
laws; that you
have committed
sin against
and in full
surrender,
turn your life
and heart over
to Christ.
The Bible
says: "To all
who received
him (Jesus
Christ), to
those who
believed in
his name he
gave the right
to become
children of
God" (John
1:12).
Right where
you are you
can pray
something like
this:
"Lord, I know
that I am a
sinner and
need your
forgiveness.
I believe that
Jesus Christ
died and rose
from the dead
for me.
I accept You
as Lord and
Savior over my
life this day
and forever.
Amen."
If you have
sincerely
place your
faith in Jesus
Christ, and
determine to
turn from your
evil ways,
then God
promises not
only to
forgive you,
but also to
receive you
into His
family as a
joint heir
with Jesus
Christ.
