Yes, it's been a long, long,
road Winding through the years; Sometimes
bringing happiness, Many times of
tears.
 I've seen the noontime
darker than The midnight's empty sky. I've
had the sun appear, again, While tears still
filled my eyes.
 I've
had a little company. They stayed a little
while. But when the fork came in the
road, They left with wave and
smile.
 I've
planted flowers by the way But never saw them
bloom And, yet, I've smelled the sweetest
scent In someone else's room.
 I've
caught the hand of one in need. I've had to
go away. I've wished for just one hour
that Relief would come and
stay.
 I've
known some friends (so dear, so wise) That
brightened up the day. My tears fell by the
bucketfuls When parting came our
way.
 The
winding road has led me well, With One beside
to stand; Sometimes offering sweet
support, Sometimes just touching my
hand.
 The
road that winds, the road that's long, Must
one day reach it's goal And welcome home a
weary one; A Heaven for his soul
...
 Where
we will never wander Or falter on the
way, Where Sonlight gives us happiness For
an everlasting day!
