Come home for the
holidays
no matter how far.
Close your eyes and
you'll be here
wherever you are.
See the tree in the
corner
with it's lights all
a glow.
Special ornaments
hanging
placed lovingly just
so.
Hear the carols of
Christmas
softly filling the
room.
Lifting our hearts
while
chasing away gloom.
Gaze upon snowflakes
silently falling
outside.
Imagine us cuddling
on the sleigh we
would ride.
Feel the warmth from
the fireplace
with the wood all
ablaze.
As we'd snuggle with
blankets
when ending our
days.
Remember midnight
service
at the church down
the street.
The hymns and the
stories
praise given so
sweet.
The sweet sounds of
delight
when presents
appear.
We'll read your
letters
bringing you near.
Know in your heart
love is sent here
from home.
To our loved one
abroad
wherever you roam.
So come home for the
holidays
from wherever you
are.
Close your eyes and
you'll be here
no matter how far.
