If
These Walls Could Talk

If these walls were alive
and could talk, Would you worry about what
they would say? Or, do you have yourself up
on a high pedestal, So that nobody can ever
stand in your way?
Would
the walls tell about your secret lies? Do
they know when you shed a tear? Do they
listen when others talk about you? Do they
protect you when you're here?
Have you
ever went home sad, lonely, or angry; Just
wondering what all these walls would
say? Would they gossip back and forth with
each other, As you do about your own friends,
each and every day?
Do you enjoy telling
tales and putting people down, Especially
when you really don't know them at
all; Spreading malicious gossip to anyone who
will listen So they, too, build up their own
special secret wall?
Do you lash out at
others, when they don't see your view? Or,
would the walls tell me stories so
secret? Would they open my eyes and give me a
new view of you? If these walls did talk,
would you ever have any regret?
These
walls connect as one, for strength and
unity; If they all fell down, then what would
become of thee? Now, ask yourself, each day,
if these walls could talk, What stories would
they send down their gossip tree?
Is your
Code of Ethics as it should be? Or, do these
walls hide many stories, too; Tales that
could haunt you in your sleep at night, From
all the mean, degrading, deceitful things that
you do?
Remember that these walls have
many ears And eyes that you may never ever
see. But, if these walls ever did decide to
talk, Would you be ashamed of what they would
tell me?
So, if these walls came to life,
for just one day, Would you have a clear
conscience, too? Is there anything you would
be ashamed of If these walls were talking
about you?
