There's Got To Be A Bridge

Many years ago I had a Godly sorrow
That stirred repentance to my soul
I ask the Lord’s forgiveness
And He so kindly made me whole

He gave me a measure of faith
And His work for me to do
He promised if I stood faithful
I’d surely make it through

There’s got to be a bridge
Somewhere on life’s highway
That we will all have to cross
At the end someday

Many time’s I have failed Him
But I’ve always kept the faith
For on the cross of Calvary
The Savior took my place

And He knows I suffer such afflictions
More than I’ve ever known
From the messengers of Satan
The demons I've been shown

I have ask you to remove it
That I might carry on
To travel both near and far
And always have a song

But I opened up my Bible
Corinthians II twelve and nine
It made me then to realize
That everything would be fine

My Grace is sufficient for you
Were your words to Apostle Paul
My strength’s made perfect in weakness
That I might heed this call

To glory in my infirmities
That Thy power rest in me
That I will witness for My God
Where ever I may be

There’s surely got to be a bridge
From this world of pain I know
To cross into the other land
Where all God’s children go

Thank you Lord for my infirmities
That I may suffer for Thy sake
Although I’ve ask many times
From my side this thorn to take

But there’s a span from here to there
From this barren desert land
To the pearly Gates of Heaven
Into the Promise Land

Sometimes I feel I’m crossing
For the bridge is narrow and long
But in my distresses for Christ’s sake
Once again I am made strong

Now there’s a wide bridge to destruction
The devil’s waiting there
With pits of fire and his angels
For all whom he can devour

So I’ll keep striving Lord I promise
As long as you will bless
But there’s got to be a bridge somewhere
Leading from all this distress

Just use me Lord help me be
A spirit filled witness for Thee
That everyone that cross my path
That they may see Christ in me

When you’re ready for my final rest
From these afflictions that I bear
There’s got to be a bridge
That leads from here to there

To carry me from all persecutions
All infirmities and wars
And it will span Old Jordan
I’ll find the peace I’m looking for

With all my struggles laid aside
And a new body free of pain
No more tear only laughter
Within my heart shall reign

There’s got to be bridge somewhere
So Lord if you’ll just show me
And just guide me on across
To live with you in Glory
