Learning To Walk

I remember an illustration that a lady gave when teaching a lesson. We all remember when our children were learning to walk. They take a few steps and then they fall down. When that happened, we did not frown and say, "Look at that, he fell down"!

No, with great joy we said, "He walked! He walked!"

It is the same with us in our Christian walk with the Lord. Sometimes we take a few steps forward, then we fall. Sometimes we beat ourselves up for it. But God is not standing there pointing a finger at you because you fell!

He is shouting with joy, "She walked! She walked!"

I am so thankful that God sees the desires of our hearts and knows we long to be everything He wants us to be. He is a loving Father. He is patient with us while we are learning to walk. He does not focus on our mistakes. He is exceedingly happy when we try to do our best!

Like a loving Father, He knows we must learn to walk, before we can run.
