I was recently watching
a T.V. channel that was talking about a new movie called
“Halloweentown 4” and I was very disappointed in seeing that
the movie had come so far and made so many sequels, implying
that a great amount of people wanted to see more of those
movies made. What I think is most shocking is that some
Christians could care less if they are watching these movies.
Some would maybe say “But I am
carefully examining them.” Carefully examining them? Do
you need to “carefully examine” pornographic movies to see if
they are bad? NO!
Do you need to “carefully examine” the world to see if what’s
in it goes against the Word? NO!
In Romans 12:2 it says “And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may
prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of
God.” That verse tells you plainly what God tells you on
the world. Will you take your own opinion or God’s?
God's Word...
1. It never changes.
2. It was accurate in ancient times and is still accurate
today.
3. There is no thing put in the Bible by accident.
4. It was written by God.
Our own opinions...
1. They change.
2. Are not always right.
I’m saying that if you watch too much of witchcraft, sorcery,
and others, than you are most likely prone to fall into it.
Take this as an example: In the book “Battle Cry for My
Generation” by Ron Luce, I was reading about kids and teens
that were playing “Grand Theft Auto” and decided to start
doing some of the things that were in the game. So they
went out and started killing people, stealing their cars, and
just doing horrid stuff you can’t imagine. You may say,
oh, but that’s the game, that was their problem for playing
it, and their minds were probably twisted anyway. But in
reality, yes, not everyone who plays the game goes out and
kills someone, but the game put ideas in their heads so that
the devil can take over. You cannot tell me that those
incidents were not demonic. Because someone who is under
the Blood of Jesus and is living that Christian, God-Fearing,
life is not prone to go out and kill a bunch of people.
Witchcraft is NOT this fun and cute little thing that it is
made to look like. It is very real. And nothing
good comes from it. In the Bible it talks about the
Queen Jezebel and how she practiced Witchcraft. What
happened to her? She was thrown down from a wall,
trampled under horses and then eaten by dogs. There was
nothing left of her to even bury.
We need to guard our minds and what we are putting into them.
Phillipians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true,
whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is
excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Is
witchcraft pure? It is time that we as Christians
examine ourselves.
